How-To: Insert a Scrolling Marquee in FrontPage

Curriculum Area: English, School Communication

Grade Level: Yrs 3 and up

Application: Microsoft® FrontPage® 2003

Tip: Make your Web site stand out with a scrolling marquee.

Description: The competition is tough on the Web. Millions of other sites are vying for your readers' attention. You could give away fancy prizes to attract more visitors, but that would get expensive. So make your site stand out a bit with a scrolling marquee that zips across the page.

Curriculum Connection: On your school's home page use, a scrolling marquee to announce upcoming events. Assign pairs of students to a particular month, and use Microsoft Word to create a text file of events to use with the scrolling marquee. At the beginning of the month, insert that month's events. Other ideas include scrolling multiplication math problems to quiz students; scrolling spelling words letter by letter; scrolling states and their capitals; or scrolling the titles of books students have read during the year at a parent presentation.

How To:
  1. Create a new Web page in Microsoft FrontPage, or open a Web page that you've already created. Move to where you want to insert a scrolling marquee.
